This Ukraine Adventure is Just FULL of Surprises

After a long weekend in glorious Lviv and about 24 hours of traveling, we discovered that our Donetsk apartment had been broken into.  What a mess: every drawer was opened, some overturned or on my bed.  All of my stuff had obviously been rifled through.  The only things I'm sure are missing are a nice duffel bag, the apartment owner's space heater, and maybe some of the boys' clothes.  They did rip open my Skip-Bo card game?  It seems they were looking for something specific...maybe money.  Good thing I didn't leave any here.  How did this happen?  We left Friday around noon.  The apartment owner sends a cleaner here once a week; she was scheduled to come on Friday afternoon.  We did not tell anyone we were leaving for a few days, as sometimes shenanigans happen.  I'm guessing the cleaner forgot to lock the door behind her.  Den and Anya think it wasn't a professional job; some kid probably just got lucky with an unlocked door.

I'm going to process all of this tonight and decide tomorrow if I still want to stay in this apartment.

I'll write another blog post later about our trip to Lviv.
