Ukrainian Saran Wrap + Photos

It was a busy day today and I'm beat.  It's a good tired, though.  I'll keep this post short and throw in some photos.

Church this morning with Anya and Den.  The boys really enjoyed it.  We then stopped by a bookstore to pick up some things for the boys to read in Russian.  It will be good to have some Russian books at home so the boys can keep up with their native language.  We then went back to the Donetsk City Mall, with the kiddie wonderland on the top floor.  Think Mall of America, but on a smaller scale.  Since thrill rides are all new to Isaac and Eli, I was concerned this might be too much for them, but I was wrong in a big way.  The bigger and scarier the ride, the better.  I was a passenger in Isaac's bumper car, and I tell you, 16 years old is going to come way too soon.  Yikes.  We came home, had a wonderful homemade chicken dinner, FaceTimed with Curt, Cassie, and Clay, goofed off, and worked on our puzzle together.

Cute little story.  Months ago, Laura at Ukrainian Resource Center told me it's best to not ask "why" when it comes to Ukrainian ways.  I don't think she was talking about the Saran Wrap, but it's so hard to not ask, "WHY can't they give you the box with the little metal teeth on it??"  You just get the tube and have to wrestle with it every time you get it out.  I was wrapping up the leftover chicken and must have been visibly upset with the Saran Wrap.  Sweet Isaac came to my rescue.  He fixed the problem for me!  A few minutes later I heard him telling Eli the story.  I assume so, anyway.  I heard the words "Mommy" and "Thank you Isaac!" and saw a huge smile on his face.  Positive reinforcement seems to mean SO much to these boys.
